Allen Ginsberg at 100

On the centennial of Beat poet Allen Ginsberg.

Today marks the 100^th anniversary of the birth of Allen Ginsberg, one of the most important artists of the 20^th century. He has been gone almost 30 years now, but he remains as relevant as ever in these strange times.

To celebrate Ginsberg’s centennial, we have put together a special edition of Beatdom literary journal. This is by a long measure our biggest issue yet, at almost 400 pages. It is packed full of essays, interviews, poems, art, photography, and reviews. You can see a full list of contents here.

Beatdom is now on sale via the usual channels. You can find it on Bookshop, Amazon, or wherever you prefer to buy books. There is a Kindle edition and it is also on Gumroad as a PDF. (This works on a pay-what-you-can-afford model. This year’s print issue is more expensive than usual due to its length and we don’t want anyone to miss out.)

Please note that pre-ordered copies have already been sent out and should be arriving very soon. People in the US and UK will probably be receiving theirs today or in the next few days. Today, we are also releasing Marc Olmsted’s latest book, Beat Dharma. Although this is not entirely focused on Ginsberg, it is largely based on his connections to Buddhism. (He appears on the cover, as you can see below.) It contains a number of essays and poems by Olmsted. You can find it on Bookshop and Amazon.
